Where To Find Me

As the description of my blog states, I started this blog to share things I find worthy of praise.  Life has changed since years ago when I started.  I am now much busier and have great difficulty finding time to write blog posts.  Another change has been a new way of sharing ideas called Pinterest.  I'm sure most of you know about Pinterest and what it is so I won't take the time to explain that.  But I'm still sharing ideas there and I'd love to have you follow me on my boards at http://pinterest.com/jill_pettis/.  Thank you for reading this blog.  I won't delete it since I often have people coming here to look at old posts so I will leave it as a sort of archive.  I look forward to continuing to share ideas with you in this new way.

Signs of Spring

My sweet nephew has been picking daffodils and I thought he would enjoy this poem by Wordsworth.

Happy Kansas Day!

Kansas became a state on January 29, 1861 so today we celebrate it's 151st birthday!  I am proud to be a Missourian from a line of Missourians, but I must say I love this state that I have found myself in for the last 12 years.  I've posted about this in the past if you'd like more information.

Free Habit Training e-book

One of the most valuable parts of Charlotte Mason's writings for me are the passages on  habit training in children.  Debi Taylor-Hough of Charlotte Mason Home Education has put together a free e-book with all Miss Mason's writings on habit training.  Makes it easy to read and reread which I should be doing!

...I say to myself that hate is too great a burden to bear. I have decided to love. If you are seeking the highest good, I think you can find it through love. And the beautiful thing is that we are moving against wrong when we do it, because John was right, God is love. He who hates does not know God, but he who has love has the key that unlocks the door to the meaning of ultimate reality.
